Medical Grade Dermal Devices

Medical Grade Dermal Devices

When I began my career as a Beauty Therapist we only had Ultra Sound, High Frequency, Galvanic, Fat Cavitation and Electrolysis machines 20 years later they seem to be a thing of the past in a world of IPL (Intense Pulse Light), Fractional Laser, Skin Resurfacing, Skin Needling with RF, CO2 Laser, HIFU, Q Switch, NDYag Laser, LED, etc the list goes on and on. It may seem over whelming what treatment to get done and not to mention Carbon Facials, Hydra Facials, Meso Therapy, Medical Grade Peels and of course Professional Skin Care.

Depending on what skin condition you are trying to treat there are a variety of treatments you could do that will treat almost anything. Over the years I have seen many clients invest in treatments yet don’t do the same in a home care skin range. Not taking care of your skin yet doing these treatments at least once a month is all in vain if you are not going to maintain it at home, it would be like going to the Dentist once a year and not brushing and flossing your teeth daily! Having great skin doesn’t happen over night it happens by appointments and by using the right skincare!

My best advice when looking into these treatments is to research the clinic you will be going to ask questions about the devices used why the therapist has chosen a particular device for your condition, are there alternative treatments, ask how many treatments you will need to achieve the desired results. You will need to commit to using a skin care that will assist you with your treatments. You will need to invest in a good sunscreen and you will need to be diligent in your routine and going to your appointments.

The top 10 brands of devices I recommend that I know are available in the Middle East are the following: Cutera, Lumenis, Cynosure, Syneron Medical, Solta Medical, Alma Lasers, Sciton Inc, Aerolase, Sharplight Technologies, Strata Skin Sciences, Lutronic, Viora, Lynton Lasers, Synelon Candela and Inmode Aesthetic Solutions. As the saying goes you do get what you pay for. For example at the moment I am working with one of the most expensive Tattoo Removal machines on the market the Pico by Cutera whilst most tattoo removal machines take at least 20 treatments making it costly and a lengthy process with Cutera you will only need 4 to 8 treatments.

Before starting any treatment understand that at times you need your skin ready this usually means 2 weeks before treatment you will need to be using certain products that will assist with the treatments. For example when I have clients treating pigmentation I get them to use a fading cream for at least two weeks before they start their treatments and I also get them to use the right products that will help break down the pigmentation.
